In my recent post, Happiness is a Skill Worth Developing, I mentioned that happiness comes naturally when you stop resisting people’s attitudes, mindsets, & behaviors.
One of my readers commented, “If you can’t understand someone, you automatically develop a resistance, what should we think to not be resistant?”
This is a very astute observation. The Drunk Monkey is hardwired to resist that which it does not understand. This makes happiness very difficult since you and I hardly understand anyone or anything in this world, including ourselves.
So, the question becomes, “How do I maintain happiness in a world where I am constantly confronted by the unknown, which triggers The Drunk Monkey into automatic fear?”
I think that’s a question worth exploring. Thoughts?
