Having your head in a good place is essential if you want to experience power, profit and peace of mind day in and day out.

When you are worry-free, doubt-free and in a calm mental state you perform better. You have the capacity to think clearly. You are naturally more creative. You get things done, and you enjoy the process.

When you are in a mental funk everything is harder. Simple things are a pain in the ass. You react, instead of responding at work, and at home. Your sense of satisfaction and accomplishment fly out the window.

I know you have days when you are feeling off. When things aren’t going your way. When doubt, and fear and frustration sneak in and start to screw things up.

It only takes a small about to throw you off your game.

That’s why I created this simple, easy to use process for resetting your mindset.  It takes about 3 minutes.

    Just answer these questions:

    1. What are you holding onto that if you let it go, you could create massive momentum in your life?
    2. If you did that, what would the results be?
    3. Why is that important to you?
    4. What is the negative impact if you don’t let it go?
    5. What promise will you make to yourself right now?

Answering these 5 questions has the power to instantly shift you back into a good mental place. Let me give you an example of how this works, using your finances as an example:

    1. Question: What are you holding onto that if you let it go, you could create massive momentum in your life?
Answer: Business is slow. I am afraid I am not going to hit my financial goals for the year, and I won’t be able to get out of debt like I want to.
    2. Question: If you did that, what would the results be?
Answer: If I let go of the fear of not having enough money, I will probably start feeling better and having more energy. With more energy, I can start to focus more of my time on making money, rather than just keeping my head above water.
    3. Question: Why is that important to you?
Answer: It’s really important that I get out of debt. I’ve changed my spending habits, now I am ready to get out of the hole I dug in the past, and start having more money for the things I want.
    4. Question: What is the negative impact if you don’t let it go?
Answer: If I don’t let go of this fear, I will stay stuck feeling bad and feeling like I am a victim of my circumstances.
    5. Question: What promise will you make to yourself right now?
Answer: I promise to shift my attitude and remember that I am in control of my personal economy. At any moment I can make a series of decisions to improve my income and reduce my expenses. I am in charge of my financial well-being.

Easy, right? What about when it comes to dealing with a family member who gets under your skin? Here’s an example:

    1. Question: What are you holding onto that if you let it go, you could create massive momentum in your life?
Answer: My sister is a mean, judgmental person. I hate attending family functions when she’s there.
    2. Question: If you did that, what would the results be?
Answer: If I let go of my resistance to my sister, I would probably like being around my family more.
    3. Question: Why is that important to you?
Answer: My family is important to me. I like hanging out with them and having my kids know their aunts, uncles, and cousins.
    4. Question: What is the negative impact if you don’t let it go?
Answer: If I continue to hang onto my resistant of my sister and her style, I will continue to dislike attending holiday gatherings and miss out on the traditions that I love.
    5. Question: What promise will you make to yourself right now?
Answer: I will accept my sister’s style and stop taking what she says personally. Truth is, she’s entitled to her opinion. I don’t have to like it, or agree with it. But missing functions, because I refuse to accept her, is silly. I promise myself to go to the next family event and enjoy myself, no matter what comes out of her mouth.

    Are you getting this?

This week, I want you to use this process whenever you are feeling off. Whether it’s about a client, money, the kids, your hobbies, or how your mechanic didn’t fix your car on time. Seriously.

Whatever is getting under your skin, and taking up a little too much of your headspace, apply this 5 step process and get yourself feeling better fast.
