When your mind is quiet, you are non-reactionary. The survival machine is dormant. This allows you to respond to situations with a level head and clear thinking. The rational mind can be accessed more consistently and with better results when the survival mind isn’t interrupting it.

Imagine sitting on the back porch of a cabin in the woods. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and you are blissful thinking about a project you are working on…. Or a movie you just watched… you are simply enjoying the nature all around you. Then, suddenly someone fires up a lawnmower.

Poof. Your serene, focused, enjoyable thoughts – your quiet mind – are disrupted by a loud piece of machinery. This is what the survival mind does – it interrupts your flow… your serenity… your peace of mind.

The survival mind slows you down. When you are free of the survival mind you can spend your time thinking and doing things that are uplifting and constructive, instead of degrading and destructive.

In a nutshell, enlightenment gives you the opportunity to live on your terms, free of the constraint of negative mind chatter, doubt, worry and concern.

Consider how practical it is to…

    • Go through your day, unaffected by external situations that are out of your control.

    • Give people the space to be upset, pissed off and scared – and not react.

    • Have the peace of mind to listen to people gossip and not let it affect you.

    • Be calm when you don’t land a deal you wanted.

    • Be resourceful and focused when you get a flat tire in a rain storm.

    • Let politicians play their games, and not let it degrade your day.

    • Look at your finances in a sober and level headed way.

    • Be in a clear, calm state when clients are upset.

    • Access your creativity free of worry and concern.

    • Start new projects from an all is well state, knowing if things don’t work out that the process itself has merit.

    • Become fearless and unconcerned with the appearance of “failure.”

    • Release limiting beliefs that imply you “aren’t there yet.”

    • Focus on a passion project without guilt or concern that it will turn out.

    Are you getting this?

The enlightened state (aka a quiet mind) is extremely practical. When you aren’t distracted by anything, you can focus. You can process information in a far more effective way and juggle the demands of modern life, stress-free.

Being enlightened isn’t special. It’s simply a more practical, and efficient way to live.
